In my opinion I think that everyone should own some silicone tipped tongs. They are great for many things, either for using to pick up salad or for when cooking things like grilled food or pasta. The tips are heat resistant to upto 480F and won't scratch non stick surfaces. These tongs are great for doing things you wouldn't normally be able to with a spoon or spatula.
