Doctor's Choice Probiotic

Probiotics are designed to help the body reintroduce healthy bacteria back into the body. Benefits include positive results in treating diarrhea and gastroenteritis, encourages brain function, lowers bad cholesterol and blood pressure, helps treat irritable bowel syndrome, protects against bacterial infection.

The Doctor's Choice Probiotic is ideal as a daily supplement, mainly because of the "12 super-strain" formula. Each strain of probiotic has a unique affect on your body, having 12 is beneficial to your body in more ways rather than focusing on one particular issue. Each capsule contains 15 billion CFU, which are colony-forming units, a unit used to estimate the number of viable bacteria or fungal cells in a sample at the date of manufacture. The idea of the CFUs is, the more there are the better chance of the bacteria reproducing in your body and at a faster rate.

There are many brands of probiotics on the market, and I was able to test and review the Doctor's Choice brand. With them you need to take tablet once a day, either before or during a meal. They are not too big to take and are easy to swallow. These capsules are non-dairy, non-GMO, gluten free, soy free, preservatives free, and vegan. In each bottle you will receive 60 of the veggie capsules.

There are a couple issues I came across though. First of all, there were two poorly sealed capsules in my bottle of sixty. It looks like when the two halves of the capsule were being closed together that one half was bent and forced over the other half, creating a tear/ripple. After doing a little research I've read that it is important that most probiotics need to stay sealed from heat and moisture, and other sites even mention to keep them from light to keep the live bacteria from dying.

Also there is no expiration date on the bottle I received. The website and Amazon.com page both describe a long shelf life, but how long is "long"? Probiotics contain living bacteria meant to grow and replenish bacteria lost inside you, but if they all die before you get them in to your body then they wont be able to do anything at all, except waste your money.

You can purchase this on Amazon

I received this product for free for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
