Tee tree oil [also known as melaleuca oil] is an essential oil that can vary in color, from pale yellow to nearly colorless and clear. It is also The oil originates from Southeast Queensland and the northeast coast of New South Wales, Australia. Even though tea tree oil is toxic if taken by mouth, it is widely known for its medicinal purposes. Using tea tree oils show signs that i can be used as a antimicrobial. Antimicrobial is an agent that kills microorganisms for example like bacteria and fungus.
Medical Uses
In a 2012 review done by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), it showed positive effects for 3 different possible applications:
1. Treating mild to moderate acne using a 5% tea tree oil gel can be just as effective as 5% benzyl peroxide
2. When using a topical application of 100% tee tree oil solution, twice a day for 6 months, it can cure fungal toenail infection in about 10% of people who try it
3. When treating athelete's foot 10% tea tree oil cream can work about as well as tolnaftate 1%, but being less effective than clotrimazole or terbinafine.
Other uses can include dandruff, lice, herpes and other skin infections.
This product in particular has only natural and organic ingredients, no synthetic fragrances, as well as no chemical detergents. It is free of preservatives, paraben, petroleum, phthalate, sulfate, and gluten. Most of all it is cruelty free.
When I started using this product I loved it. I really enjoy the unique mint tea scent that it has, and the mint causes a menthol like sensation on the skin that is really soothing. When using it as a body wash a little goes a long way. This product doesn't stop at just being used as a body wash but as a foot soak as well, all you need is a cap full in a small basin of water and relax for 15 mins! :) Like I mentioned above, it can wash away fungus, bacteria, and body odor, as well as soothe dry and itchy skin. I can't wait for the other two body washes to come out in lavender and eucalyptus.
This shower gel is great for everyone whether you're an active athlete, wanting to protect your skin/feet or just simply relax. I definitely recommend this product to you guys!
